In 2017, while listening to a podcast past Dave Ramsey, he mentioned that the average millionaire reads one non fiction book per month.   I idea that was great, except I'm not a millionaire, and I have a modest trouble, I Detest TO READ! I was the guy that didn't read an entire book since high schoolhouse, and that was probably a cliff notes version to go me through the class.  So I ignored information technology, went on with my normal routine and didn't read a matter. In 2018, once more while listening to a podcast by Dave Ramsey, he mentioned something that struck me. He said, "The but difference between yous today, and five years from now; is what you'll learn from experiences, and what you'll learn from reading books."  Dave summarized the fact that we don't usually learn a lot through experiences alone.

Mark Batterson, Pastor of National Community Church in Washington DC and author of several books like The Circle Maker, In a Pit With a Lion on a Snowy Day mentioned that on boilerplate, it takes an writer betwixt 3-four years to write one book. That means every time you read one book, you are gaining 3-4 years of wisdom from that author. I'll permit you decide what your thought of "Wisdom" might be. In 2022 I started my journey with the goal of reading 12 Non-Fiction books, I read 17 that year. That makes me a millionaire, right?

In 2019, I gear up the goal to read 24 Non-Fiction Spiritual/Leadership Books. I read a totally of 47, which includes a few fiction and autobiography books. Over the by two years I have read more than books than I have in my entire life (35 years). Don't think that reading a volume can't modify you.  The biggest thing that pushed me to read more and more books, was when my wife noticed something different most me, and information technology wasn't me having a bad hair day. I was nearly 5 months into my growth journey of reading. I didn't notice annihilation and was really frustrated because think, I hated to read. She mentioned that whatever I have been doing was working and she could see something dissimilar in me, something better.  That encouragement showed me that you tin can learn things from reading and it will alter you. I'll admit, I don't remember every single book that I read. I pick up several main points from each ane of the books and those small-scale additions to my life, has put me on a path of personal growth I hope to never leave.

I encourage all of you as we move into 2022 to await at your current growth program. If yous need some pointers, John Maxwell has great data and books on how to start your very own program. Good Luck and Happy New year.

Growth is optional." "The greatest day in your life and mine is when we take full responsibility for our attitudes. That's the day we truly grow up." "A man must exist large enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and stiff enough to correct them." John Maxwell
